Check with your landscape specialist before fertilizing your palm trees. Depending on what type of palm it is, it may not need regular fertilization at all, or it could need it every month and a half throughout the palm’s growing season. Even these palms, however, may have a root ball that has nutrients in it already, something that your landscape specialist would be sure to know. If you find you do need to fertilize, don’t apply it close to the trunk. Instead, cultivate the area around the palm lightly to incorporate the fertilizer into the soil, and then water it in deeply.
